Harriet Tubman
More info on this topic:

Harriet Tubman was born into slavery, but ran north to freedom at the age of 28, guided by the North Star. Then this determined woman worked on the Underground Railroad to free other African-Americans. Over the next 16 years she made daring forays into the South, disquised as an old, half-crazy woman. She would sing songs with hidden messages in them, advising slaves to prepare for their escape. In this way courageous Harriet Tubman was able to lead over 300 Black people from slavery to freedom.
